For our last Appy Hour of Term, we looked at the App Strip Design
This App is similar to Comic Life, which you might have used on the Mac, however, is more flexible and easier to use for a range of purposes.
You will find a tutorial for Strip Design embedded below

Last Week's Appy Hour - Book Creator!
At our last Appy Hour we looked at a wonderful App called Book Creator.
We sourced images from our camera roll, the internet and even drew some ourselves. We also added some audio recordings/songs to our book!
Book Creator is a fantastic App with a lot of scope to publish any piece of children's work.
If you missed the session, here is a short video tutorial for Book Creator
Year 5 have been using Book Creator last week to create a collaborative book on the The Universal Declaration of Human Rights and Year 1 have been creating their own stories using the App!
Hope to see you at our next Appy Hour where we will be taking a look at Keynote!

Appy Hour - Monday of Week 4
On Monday of Week 4 we held our second Appy Hour of the term!
We looked at the App Pages and some of the different ways we might be able to utilise this App in our classrooms. We created a poster from one of the templates already in Pages to advertise an upcoming school event.
A new area of learning for many staff members was the saving of copyright-free images from Google Images. The steps we took to search for these images were as follows:
1. Open Safari and tap in the address bar, clear whatever information is there at the moment
2. Use a keyword to search for an image you would like to use with your poster
3. Select 'Images' from the menu (it should be next to the word web)
4. Select Search Tools and then Usage Rights and then select Labeled for reuse
5. Select the image and choose view image (this will enlarge the image so you can save the best quality image available)
6. Once the image has loaded on to a new page, press and hold your finger on the image for a few seconds, and a dialogue box will appear with the option to Save Image - select this and your image will be saved to your Camera Roll which can be found in either the Camera app or the Photos app

iPad Launch!
Hi All,
On Wednesday the 25th of June we will be rolling out the iPads to you all!
On the day you will receive your iPad, and your case.
Also on the day, we will sign in with our Apple ID, have a brief introduction to some of the features of the iPad, set up our email accounts and start downloading some Apps which the school has purchased for you.
Before next Wednesday, you need to create an Apple ID if you do not already have one. To do this, see one of the members of the ICLT team.
We will also be looking at the iPad Teacher Agreement which has been created.
Look forward to seeing you on the day!
